FGF is used to prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia in pregnancy and megaloblastic anemia associated with folate deficiency.

Usage

Iron is an essential trace element that is required for the formation of hemoglobin and myoglobin important components of the blood. FGF tablets also contain a sufficient amount of folic acid to prevent the development of folate deficiency during pregnancy.

Dose advice

The usual recommended dose for non-pregnant and pregnant adults is one tablet once a day (FGF is safe to give during pregnancy and lactation).

• Abdominal pain
• Nausea and vomiting
• Constipation
• Diarrhoea
• Black discoloration of feces

Uncommon side effects

• Headache
• Joint aching
• Muscle aching
• Fast heart rate
• Sweating
• Shortness of breath
• Low blood pressure
• Chest pain
• Rash
• Allergic reaction
• Diarrhoea
