Vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin, is unique as the body can manufacture it in skin that is exposed to the sun.
UVB is the only form of sunlight that stimulates this action. A molecule found in the skin cells absorbs UVB and produces cholecalciferol, a form of Vitamin D (also called Vitamin D3). Ergocalciferol or Vitamin D2 is another form of Vitamin D that is found in some plants. Both these forms of Vitamin D are inactive. It is a convenient way to take Vitamin D for those people who find swallowing tablets difficult and has a great butterscotch taste.
Directions for Use
Dosage for infants and children up to 12 years of age:
Two drops daily or as directed by your healthcare professional. OsteVit-D Children’s Oral Drops are convenient and easy to administer. The bottle will automatically dispense one drop containing 200 IU of Vitamin D3 when tipped at a 45 degree angle. Administer directly into the child’s mouth or add to a teaspoon of milk or juice.
Ingredients
OsteVit-D Children’s Oral Drops contain 200 IU of Vitamin D3 per 0.04 mL drop and have a pleasant butterscotch flavour.
Contraindications & Cautions
Always read the label. Use only as directed. Free from gluten, yeast, lactose, artificial colours and flavours. Vitamins can only be of assistance if the dietary vitamin intake is inadequate.
