Robitussin EX Chesty Cough provides symptomatic relief from the family's congested chests and coughs due to the common cold.
Robitussin EX contains the expectorant Guaiphenesin, which increases the flow of natural secretions along the lower respiratory tract. This liquefying effect helps break up a cough and helps loosen congestion so you can cough it up and get it off your chest.
Active Ingredients
Each 10mls of oral liquid contains:
- Guaiphenesin 200mg
- Also contains Ethanol (alcohol) 40mg/ml (4.8%v/v); sodium benzoate and saccharin sodium. This product contains sorbitol (65g/120ml) the maximum daily dose which may have a laxative effect or cause diarrhea in some people.
- Sugar Free, Non-Drowsy
Every 4 hours orally when necessary
- Adults and children over 12 years: 10 to 20ml
- Children 6-12 years: 5 to 10ml
- Children 2-6 years: 2.5 to 5ml
Do not exceed recommended dosage. This medication should not be used in children less than 2 years of age without medical advice.
Caution
If cough persists for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache, consult a doctor. If you have a persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or cough accompanied by excess phlegm, consult a doctor before taking this product. If you are hyper sensitive to any of the ingredients seek the advice of a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
