Canesten Once Daily is a combination pack for the treatment of vaginal thrush (vulvovaginal candidiasis), containing one internal pessary with applicator for full internal treatment in a single dose, plus external cream to relieve associated external itching and irritation of the vulva. The pessary should be inserted at bedtime for the most effective and comfortable treatment.
Ingredients: Pessary: Clotrimazole 500mg. External cream: Clotrimazole 10mg/g (1%). Cream also contains benzyl alcohol, cetostearyl alcohol and purified water.
Directions: Wash your hands before and after use. Insert the pessary as high and deeply as comfortable into the vagina using the applicator provided, preferably in the evening before bed, as a single dose. Apply the external cream thinly to the vulva and surrounding area 2-3 times daily to relieve external itching, for as long as symptoms persist.
Warnings: Only use if you have been previously diagnosed with vaginal thrush by a doctor, or have had thrush confirmed before and recognise the same symptoms. Always read the label and follow the directions for use. See your doctor if this is your first episode, if you are pregnant, if symptoms don't improve within 7 days, or if you experience lower abdominal pain, fever, or unusual discharge. For external use of the cream only — the pessary is for internal (vaginal) use only. Store below 25°C.
